Move With Ease

Sitting too much? Stiff joints? Concerned with how your body is losing agility with age? This class, taught by certified massage therapist Linda Maher MacDonald, is for you. Through breathing exercises, gentle movement, and attention to sensation, participants create a new awareness of forgotten muscles, such as the psoas, which has been called "the hidden muscle of survival."

Exercises cultivate micro-movements of fine muscles deep in the core, surrounding the entire spine, and, by extension, the rest of the body. Spaces in our bodies that have become inactive open up as we release restrictions in our hips, shoulders and neck. The effect: more flexible muscles, pain relief, strengthening, easier breathing, less fatigue and stress, and more fun. Just think how good you feel after a massage! Drop-ins welcome.

 

Tuition:

 $20 for drop-in class; $15 per class with 10-class card.
